The function of your thyroid gland affects your me The function of your thyroid gland affects your metabolism and weight, mood and energy levels, menstrual flow, sex drive and reproductive function, gastrointestinal system, and so much more.

A vital part of your endocrine system, your thyroid gland produces and releases a steady amount of thyroid hormones into your bloodstream to help control your body temperature and metabolism.

Thyroid hormones like triiodothyronine (T3) and thyroxine (T4) also affect your heart rate, blood pressure and cholesterol, and can impact muscle mass and bone density. These hormones can even affect your hair and nail growth. Thyroxine also helps regulate the movement of your gastrointestinal tract and affects how your body makes and uses sugar.

The function of your thyroid gland is regulated by your brain via the pituitary gland, which releases TSH, the thyroid-stimulating hormone. TSH causes cells within your thyroid to make more thyroid hormones. If everything is functioning properly, the pituitary gland will release more TSH if your T3 and T4 levels are too low. If they're too high, the gland will release less TSH.

If the body needs more energy in certain situations – during cold weather, for example, or while undergoing pregnancy – the thyroid gland temporarily produces more T3 & T4 hormones. T4 is usually converted to T3, the most biologically active thyroid hormone. However, when your thyroid does not consistently make the right amount of these hormones, this can lead to imbalances that are associated with a wide range of symptoms from brittle nails to chronic fatigue.

Thyroid problems often start during times of radical hormonal fluctuations. Diet, lifestyle choices, and environmental influences can all affect thyroid function. Environmental exposures to lead and other heavy metals, radiation, pesticides, and air pollution are known to impact thyroid health.
A small percentage of cases of telogen effluvium t A small percentage of cases of telogen effluvium turn into a condition called chronic telogen effluvium. This is when excessive hair shedding persists beyond six months up to several years.

Chronic telogen effluvium can be a symptom experienced by individuals recovering from major illness or chronic stress, likely because their bodies are undergoing a significant amount of chronic stress.

Besides those who have endured prolonged physical or emotional stress, chronic telogen effluvium can also affect women aged 30-60 years who have a full head of hair prior to the onset of shedding.

The onset of chronic telogen effluvium is usually abrupt. Chronic telogen effluvium can occur with (or without) a recognizable initiating factor such as continuous dieting, taking certain medications or chronic illness/stress. Chronic telogen effluvium may be triggered by hormonal changes caused by fluctuating estrogen levels during menopausal transition.

The degree of shedding is usually severe in the early stages and the hair may come out in handfuls.

However, even those who experience chronic telogen effluvium will not lose all of their hair. The proportion of hairs in the telogen phases at any one time is usually under 50%.

Treatments for chronic telogen effluvium may include medications such as minoxidil. It’s also important to address any possible underlying causes, correct any underlying nutritional deficiencies, and practice gentle hair care (such as avoiding harsh chemicals in hair care products and aggressive brushing or overbrushing).
North America is the largest market for personaliz North America is the largest market for personalized nutrition services in the world. Offering custom nutrition & supplementation planning to your clients is a great way to expand your wellness business and meet growing consumer demand.

However, using a subjective questionnaire may not be the best way to select the right individual supplements for the health & wellbeing of your clients.

An epigenetic hair scan analysis can reduce the guesswork out of personalized vitamin and mineral supplementation by using epigenetic mapping technology to identify nutritional deficiencies and even detect over supplementation.

The My Optimizer White Label Report is a new and completely customizable epigenetic assessment service available from Cell Wellbeing that allows providers to focus on what is most important to their practice. Choose what areas the report focuses on and how to present the information to your client in a fully customizable electronic report that can indicate supplementation recommendations and provide links for more information or to buy now.

Data-driven personalized nutrition is likely to be part of the future of health & wellness. Visit forhealthycells.com/offerings (or send us a DM!) if you are interested in offering personalized nutrition & supplement recommendations to your clients based on groundbreaking epigenetic hair follicle analysis.
